Happy February! We hope the mid-winter slump isn't getting you down. And if it is, we have some math-themed resources, like a bracket challenge, that will put some fun in your day.

Black History Month

Our amazing Two Skills Tuesday Winners are highlighted again. We are also honoring the lives of black mathematicians and inventors, and getting ready for Pi Day. Recently we released the new Teacher Dashboard designed to provide insights and actionable data for Teachers and Site Admins. And don't forget to schedule your mid-year check-in.

We honor the lives of black mathematicians and inventors, whose stories and triumphs are often overlooked. Download these resources for students and teachers on the work of these pioneers in STEM to celebrate the lives and innovations of Katherine Johnson, Dr. Mark Dean, Valerie Thomas, and Lonnie Johnson. Their contributions to math and science are impactful and remarkable. They have led to the invention of the personal computer, Super Soaker, and significant hands in NASA missions Apollo 11 and Landsat.

⭐ Teacher Dashboard

The Teacher Dashboard is packed with helpful tools to give you a better understanding of how your students are learning. With this dashboard, site administrators and teachers alike can track student progress and make informed decisions to optimize teaching strategies.

How to implement the Teacher Dashboard in your classroom ➡️ Drive student success with the motivational tools built into your dashboard! Encourage students to complete at least two skills per week.

The Skill-O-Meter poster provides a visual way to track weekly progress and celebrate achievements, you can use the Weekly History widget to populate information into the poster. For a more comprehensive view, the Roadmaps Class Progress Tracker helps you set monthly goals and monitor both skills passed and skill challenges taken. This is a fantastic way to foster a little healthy competition in your classroom! Update the tracker weekly using the Weekly History widget and the Skills challenges attempted per student chart.

Teacher Feedback

We are undertaking an exploration to improve the Roadmaps design and user experience for students and teachers and we could use your help! We are looking to interview administrators, teachers and students between now and March 5th to learn more about your experience using the platform. Some topics we intend to cover include:

  1. Your overall experience: What works well? What could be improved? What tasks do they find frustrating or time-consuming?
  2. How do you use the platform in your classroom: How does it fit into your daily flow? Are there any workarounds you use?
  3. How do students engage with the platform: What keeps students motivated? Where do they struggle? How do you support students when they get stuck? Are there any activities they do outside the platform to enhance motivation?
  4. Your ideal experience: If you could change one thing about the platform to better support teaching and learning, what would it be?

If you are interested in being interviewed, or organizing a focus group of students, please choose a time slot here or reach out to support4roadmaps@teachtoone.org with any questions. We would be happy to send you coffee on us for your time, and provide pizza to your students for participation!
